ACEC to Discontinue Remote Collection Stations

A bitter-sweet decision has been made to discontinue Adams-Columbia Electric Cooperative's 10 remote bill collection stations. The decision comes after a lengthy evaluation, monitoring their usage. It's also a time when we're preparing to offer even more new bill payment options. Continued use of the remote collection stations will slow the billing process and cancel some of the benefits of our new system.

We regret any inconvenience for the few members who still use any of the locations to pay their monthly electric bill. A letter will be mailed to members known to be regular users. In the letter we explain convenient payment options available through FLEX Pay. To minimize the impact, our most popular stations will not close until November 2008.

In May, these three remote bill collection stations will be discontinued: National Exchange Bank, Baraboo; US Bank, Portage; and the Princeton True Value. In July, three stations are slated to end: National Exchange Bank, Montello; Mason Station, Briggsville; and Royal Bank, Oxford. In September, two stations will be discontinued: Farmers and Merchants Bank, Columbus; and Grand Marsh State Bank, Grand Marsh. The final two collection stations will end service in November: Nekoosa-Port Edwards Lake Branch, Rome; and US Bank, Rome.

ACEC members are encouraged to consider the convenient bill payment options available through our FLEX Pay program. Learn more online at www.acecwi.com. You can also talk with a helpful customer service representative in person or by calling 1-800-831-8629.
